President and general manager of the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) Hichem Anane revealed that the humidity level which reached 90%, impacted parts of the electricity network, with a high pressure of 225 thousand volts.
In a statement made to Al Watania 1, Anane clarified that this humidity led to a technical breakdown in the Radès electricity plant, where a deficit of 870 megawatts was registered.
He also confirmed that the rest of the electricity production plants across the country were not able to cover this electricity demand, which led to their decommissioning and the demand on the Algerian network.
