Tunisia-Imed Khmiri: Parliament must publish the list of absent MPs

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Ennadha MP Imed Khmiri reflected on the disruption of parliament work by MPs affiliated with its parliamentary bloc.

Calling this information untrue, Khmiri reported that the Democratic bloc will today publish the list of deputies who were present during the dialogue session with the INLUCC noting that the vast majority of them were absent.

Emphasizing that the PDL deputies had also been absent since yesterday, he unveiled that most of the deputies of the Ennahdha bloc were present.

“Whoever accuses others of absenteeism need to be be present during plenary sessions. Members should know by now that the exceptional measures that were adopted throughout the last 4 months are no longer applicable today. This means that plenary sessions entail a physical presence and a quorum, ”he said.

Noting that this absenteeism damages the image of the legislative institution, Khmiri called on the Parliament to publish the list of absent MPs.
