The criminal chamber specializing in financial corruption cases at the Tunis Court of Appeal dismissed the case in favour of Imed Trabelsi and decided to lower Yassine Chennoufi’s jail sentence from one year to 6 months, Mosaique FM reports.
This verdict is part of the case of falsification, possession and usage of forgery implicating Yassine Chennoufi, a former Customs official, and Imed Trabelsi, the nephew of Leïla Ben Ali, the wife of the former President of the Republic of Tunisia, Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali.
Chennoufi is accused of supplying illegal services to Imed Trabelsi. The two defendants appeared yesterday in court and rejected the facts.
