Tunisia-Imposition of 30 euros tax on tourists rejected by the HPR

The House of People’s Representatives voted against a submitted proposal to inflict a 30-euro Tax on foreign tourists, except for Tunisian expatriates.

During their electoral vote on the key provisions of the 2020 complementary finance bill, elected Parliament deputies firmly rejected the possible creation of a head tax on entrance into Tunisian territory, at the account of any foreign tourist, besides Tunisians living overseas.

According to this provision, “the local tax should be settled in the form of a tax seal attached to the passport or other document selected by the Finance Ministry and stamped by the police at the traveller’s entry.
