Tunisia-Increase in tourism receipts by 11.6%

Tourism receipts grew by 110.4% during the first ten days of 2023, compared to the same period of 2022 and by 11.6% compared to the same period of 2019, according to the latest figures issued on Tuesday. , by the Ministry of Tourism.

For the whole of 2022, tourist receipts raised by 83.3% compared to 2021, reaching 4.279 million dinars.

In terms of entries, 6 million 437 thousand tourists of different nationalities paid a visit to Tunisia in 2022, up 160% compared to 2021 and 69% compared to 2019.

During the first ten days of 2023, the number of tourists who visited Tunisia grew by 147.9% compared to the same period in 2022 and by 13.1%, compared to 2019, “this signifies a promising tourist season if all favourable conditions are secured domestically and internationally,” the tourism department said.

The number of tourists’ overnight stays augmented by 140% in 2022 compared to 2021, to 20 million overnight stays.

“The tourism sector statistics registered in 2022 surpassed the target set, which was to reach between 50% and 60% of the figures registered in 2019, to reach 70%,” said the Ministry of Tourism.
