Tunisia-Independence day: President Kais Saied grants special pardons to 1521 detainees

On the occasion of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of Independence day, President Kais Saied decided to grant a special pardon to 1521 prisoners, which would result in the release of 389 of them. The remainder will receive a reduced sentence.

The Head of State received, on Friday, at the Carthage Palace, Interim Justice Minister Hasna Ben Sliman who presented him with a report on the results of the work of the special pardon commission, in the presence of the members of the commission who reviewed the files of 3054  convicts.
