Industrial production went down by 3.5% until November 2019, compared with the same period in 2018, the National Institute of Statistics said in a statement Tuesday.

The decline resulted mainly from decreases in the energy sector (-10.0%), mechanical and electrical engineering (-0.9%), textiles, clothing and leather (-3.7%), chemicals and chemical products (-5.0%) and fishing (-5.6%).
It was also due to decreases in ceramic and glass building materials industry sector (-4.0%), the oil refining sector (-76.2%), the woodworking sector (-6.0%) and the paper and cardboard industry sector (-1.9%).
The decrease is explained by lower production in the energy sector (-7.6%), the mechanical and electrical industries (-1.8%), and the textile, clothing and leather industries (-2.8%).
