The inflation rate stabilized at 5.4%, during the month of October 2020, for the third consecutive month (August, September, October), according to published data, this Thursday, November 5, 2020 , by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The inflation rate dropped to 5.4% in August 2020, from 5.7% the previous month. After three months of successive declines, the inflation rate is consequently still stabilizing at its rate in August.
The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Tunisia marked in its periodic meeting on September 30, the significant drop in the rate of price growth in recent months, which should continue for the rest of the year.
This stability can be explained in particular by the acceleration in the rate of increase in the prices of food products (5.6% against 5.3%, in September) and on the other hand by the observed deceleration in the price level of transport products and services (0.6% vs. 1.3%).
