Tunisia – Information and communication with citizen: the Last concern of our three presidents?

The most pressing crisis of the political class in Tunisia for approximately ten years remains that of inadequate communication. In fact, the communication links between elected officials and their voters are rapidly broken, as soon as the election results are declared.

We have to assume that our politicians have learned to do without communication through official channels, favouring the adoption of social networks.

Nevertheless, the usage of social networks is not without jeopardy, particularly when it is inadequately controlled. Furthermore, resorting to social networks exposes the slippages that we are deploring, when those we have agreed to call “electronic militias” come into movement and permit themselves everything, unlike the first concerned who arrive to strike or defend themselves by false profiles.

This being the state of play for most political actors in the nation, but for the forefront officials, in this case, the three presidents and the ministers, we continue, as best we can to resort to spokespersons and communication officers. Or, perhaps, it should be said, continued to use it, until recently …

Because, we observed, for a few days, that thanks to an opportunity, maybe, our three presidents, that the Republic, the parliament presidency and the government, continued to be without communications officers.
Certainly, while the Carthage communications officer has been pushed to the door and stepped down for a few months, and has not been replaced to this day, while the president’s communications officer of the House of people representatives passed away a few weeks ago, the picture was formed by the resignation of the communications officer of Kasbah a few days ago.
So that it appears that communication with the citizen continues to be the least of the concerns of the first leaders of the country. They do not recognise the necessity for a good official network of communication with the citizens who discover themselves, consequently left behind, without any effort of explanation or communication. It seems, that the first officials of the State do not bother much about the apprehensions and the state of mind of their constituents … They only have to suffer, in silence, and stand aside!
