Tunisia-INLUCC denounces acts of retaliation against whistleblower of corruption case

The National Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC) rendered a decision granting protection to a corruption whistleblower because of the practices of reprisals to which he was the object, represented in the harassment and arbitrary transfer, with a change of residence, the freeze of his career, the deprivation of his financial contributions, on the basis of his reports on suspicion of corruption in a technical inspection centre for vehicles.

The decision to grant protection includes the following:

  • The return of the whistleblower to his previous position with the rank of technical examination controller.
  • Regulation of his professional status by lifting the freezing sanction to which he has been subject and allowing him to benefit from all of his financial contributions.
  • Taking measures to ensure that he is not sent and to prevent retaliation against him, or intimidating or threatening him, whether directly, by means or in any way it would be.
