Tunisia – INM: Summer will be particularly hot with possibility of heavy showers

Director of the Research and Development Department of the National Institute of Meteorology, Hatem Bakour, stated that temperatures will surpass normal levels during the summer, according to the indicators and probabilities performed by the Institute within the framework of proactive expectations.

Hatem Bakour mentioned, during his appearance today, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, on national radio, the possibility of registering heavy rains in summer, and attributed this to climatic fluctuations and the worsening of the climatic situation experienced by most countries in the world, including the countries of the Mediterranean basin.

He declared climate change opened the door to recording unusual phenomena that occurred outside of their seasons, such as heavy showers and floods in summer.
