Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi welcomed on Friday ambassadors in Tunis and Tripoli, Libya, Donald Blome and Richard Norland.
Means of increasing bilateral partnership and developments of the situation in Libya, pending the Inter-Libyan Political Dialogue Forum to be held in early November in Tunis, were on the program of the meeting. Means to secure the success of this forum, whose face-to-face meetings will begin on November 9, were also addressed, reads a statement by the Forget ministry.
The significance of this forum was also emphasised, which “represents to the Libyan parties, a promising opportunity for a lasting and inclusive political settlement and to achieve a decisive and consensual solution to the crisis that continues in Libya”.
The two US diplomats declared their country’s support for the Inter-Libyan Political Dialogue Forum being held in Tunis, welcoming the efforts exercised by Tunisia to secure all the conditions for the success of this dialogue which is essential for the resolution of the Libyan crisis. “This shows the confidence that the Libyan parties, the United States and the international community have in Tunisia,” they added.
