Tunisia-Interior minister meets with Italian Ambassador

The Minister of the Interior, Taoufik Charfeddine, met Friday, at the headquarters of the department, with the Italian ambassador in Tunis, Lorenzo Fanara.

The meeting discussed the means conducive to strengthening cooperation between the interior ministries of the two countries and more specifically in the fields of the fight against terrorism and irregular migration, indicates the interior ministry.

Taoufik Charfeddine stressed the imperative to adopt a comprehensive approach to address the phenomenon of irregular migration that takes into account the dimensions of development and work for the process of regular migration through the implementation place of related legal frameworks.

For his part, the Italian diplomat praised “the efforts made by Tunisian security units to deal with irregular migration”.
