Tunisia-ISIE and HAICA sign a joint commitment to coordinate coverage of the presidential and legislative campaign

The Independent High Authority for the Elections (ISIE) and the Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA) have cordially approved a joint agreement to properly establish coverage rules concerning the forthcoming presidential and legislative election campaign by the audiovisual and communication media.

The joint resolution was approved by ISIE President Nabil Bafoun and HAICA President Nouri Lajmi and consist precisely of 49 adapted articles.The first section establishes general terms.
The second section deals with the specific rules of local media coverage during the presidential election campaign, while the third part sufficiently establishes the rule of conducting presidential debates and direct expressions. The last articles comprise five chapters (45 to 49), and Article 45 states that the HAICA “monitors the media‘s adherence to the principles of equalityfairnessdiversity and ethics.“, reported the TAP Agency.
