Tunisia-ISIE: nearly 9 million voters registered on electoral lists [video]

ISIE member Ridha Missaoui declared on the sidelines of a press conference held today that 55 thousand operations for updating the lists of voters have been conducted.

He stated that 8,989287 voters are recorded on the electoral lists spread over 4,559 centres and 1,1323 voting offices, 51% of which are women.

Abroad, 3,50469 voters are registered to partake in the next electoral meeting spread over 311 centres and 390 polling stations, 61% of which are men, says Missaoui.

According to ISIA figures, the majority of voters who reached the ISIA belong to the 35-49 age group.

At the same time,he emphasises that ISIE received 200 official legislative candidates, including 20 in Sidi Bouzid, adding that the ISIE made available to citizens 630 agents to deal with the transactions of the legalization of signature to facilitate the process.

”The uninominal voting system will be adopted for the following elections. Consequently, there could be two laps: the first will take place on December 17 and the 2nd on January 29, 2023 ”said Missaoui .
