Tunisia-Italian Foreign Minister expected in Tunis on December 28

Tunisian-Italian relations and ways to strengthen them and the visit of Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio to Tunisia on December 28, were at the centre of the meeting, which brought together, on Friday, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi, with Italian Ambassador to Tunisia, Lorenzo Fanara.

Jerandi and Fanara also discussed the issue of re-exporting waste containers to Italy, reads a statement of the Foreign Affairs Department.

In this regard, the Italian diplomat stressed the efforts made by the authorities of his country to complete this issue, reaffirming the legitimacy of the Tunisian request.

On another level, Jerandi said that Tunisia is counting on Italy’s support at the European Union (EU) in the case of the extension of the freeze of Tunisian looted assets in Europe.
