Speaking at a plenary session in Parliament yesterday, interim Local Affairs and Environment Minister Kamel Doukh addressed the Italian waste file.
Mr Doukh announced that a meeting will be organized on June 15, 2021, between the Italian and Tunisian authorities to resolve the case. He added that the Italian company that exported the waste is no longer allowed to operate in the area in question.
He, therefore, announced that Tunisia preferred to opt-in favour of a diplomatic approach specifying, adding that it could be possible to have recourse to international justice.
