Tunisia-Italy calls on Tunisian institutions to ensure respect the Constitution and rule of law

According to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Italy is closely monitoring developments in Tunisia. The scope and nature of the decisions adopted in the last few hours will need to be carefully evaluated. Italy further expresses its concern concerning the situation and its possible implications and appeals to Tunisian institutions to secure respect for the Constitution and the rule of law.

In a period in which the political and economic crisis in the nation is exacerbated by the decline of the epidemiological situation, Italy confirms its support for the political and economic stability of Tunisia and reemphasises its genuine closeness to the friendly Tunisian people
