Italian ambassador to Tunisia Lorenzo Fanara declared his country’s solid engagement to proceed helping development projects in Tunisia as well as consolidate capacities of the national army.
“Italy will contribute to the implementation of « Al Mohdeth » project in El-Fouar, Kebili,” the ambassador said at the end of his meeting Tuesday in Tunis with National Defense Minister Brahim Bartagi.
Quoted in a statement released by the Defense Ministry, Fanara commended Italy’s contribution to the construction of a vocational training center specialised in scuba diving and underwater activities, in Zarzis, Medenine through the “acquisition of equipment and training of trainers”.
Bartagi hailed Italy’s support to Tunisia particularly in the security, military and development fields as part of bilateral or multilateral cooperation.
“Italy is one of Tunisia’s major partners considering their strong historic ties as well as their common challenges,” the same source says.
