Since the airing of the “Yesthak” program on the Elhiwar Ettounsi channel last week, the story of Abderrahman and Halima has become a topic of discussion among Tunisians. The two have confronted challenges and struggled with obesity since childhood, sparking public interest and worry.
In the hopes of finding a solution for Abderrahman and Halima, host Jaâfer and the team sought the expertise of a Tunisian physician, Dr. Mourad Adala, who has been following their case for years. Unfortunately, it was disclosed that their treatment in Tunisia was nearly impossible.
However, following the public’s strong reaction to the story, two health professionals associated with the San Donato hospital group in Italy, led by Kamel Ghribi, voiced interest in helping. Ghribi asked the medical files of Abderrahman and Halima to evaluate their condition and plan necessary interventions.
Jaâfer Guessmi, speaking to Tunisie Numérique, described this development as a significant human victory. He revealed the positive news that the treatments for Abderrahman and Halima are set to start, though the date of their departure to Italy has not yet been determined.
Guessmi expressed thanks to all parties involved in bringing an end to the ordeal faced by Abderrahman and Halima. He mentioned that Dr. Adala will continue to supervise the case, coordinating with doctors in Italy to initiate treatment after completing all necessary procedures.
