Tunisia-John Alderdice:legal action against parliamentarians as elected representatives is unacceptable

In a post published on his Twitter account, the former speaker of the Northern Irish Assembly John Alderdice addressed the latest political events in Tunisia, including the dissolution of Parliament by President of the Republic Kais Saied.
 
 “Recent events in Tunisia are deeply disturbing. I was troubled when the President dissolved parliament but the threats of wholesale legal action against parliamentarians for exercising their responsibilities as elected representatives is unacceptableé,he wrote.
