Tunisia-Journalists and employees of Shems Fm start an open sit-in

A general meeting was held on Friday, March 12, at the headquarters of radio Shems Fm, in the attendance of the General Federation of Media and the National Union of Tunisian Journalists, to explore the decision to appoint the journalist. Hanen Ftouhi as the new head of the radio station, while the radio transfer procedure is underway. Hence, the employees and journalists of the radio decided to begin an open sit-in, from Monday, March 15.
The workers categorical refused this appointment, which according to them does not correspond to the difficult financial situation of the establishment, and which entails an experienced administrative and financial manager.
The further called on the government to put an end to stopgap solutions through partisan appointments based on favouritism and which fail to meet the standards of experience and competence.
They likewise urged the government, the confiscated property management commission and Al Karama Holding to decide on the radio transfer, and to clarify the reasons for the obstruction of this operation, which should have been resolved for months
