In a post published today on her official page, former presidential chief of staff Nadia Akacha revealed that July 25, 2021, is an assertive moment in the history of Tunisia which was planned to break with political rot and corruption having undermined state institutions. “July 25 is a historic decision and a national process that should have been founded on a clear methodology, a cooperative democratic approach and solid foundations to construct a rule of law capable of respecting rights and freedoms. But, unfortunately, this process has been seized by a bunch of losers who merely defame others. Tunisia is encountering a suffocating political crisis that has never occurred in the country’s modern history. Tunisia is also suffering from an economic and financial crisis. Added to this is the inability to develop a reform program that will permit us to discuss an agreement with the IMF,” she said.
