A third-year primary student, around the age of ten, was the victim of physical violence in a school in Kairouan. The girl was beaten by her teacher with a thick stick on her hands which caused her broken fingers, she was carried to the Aghlabid hospital. Kairouan’s child protection delegate, Sabri Bhaieh told Mosaique FM.
The victim’s father did not notify the school director of the incident and the delegation of Child Protection reacted as soon as it heard about this case. He added that psychological support was given for the little girl and the prosecution took charge of the inquiry in this case since the punishment experienced by the victim was collective.
The Kairouan child protection delegate also lamented the explosion of violence in schools.
