Tunisia-Kairouan: Arrest warrant against security agent suspected of raping and torturing a girl

The public prosecutor at the Kairouan Court of First Instance issued an arrest warrant against a security agent from Kairouan (Nasrallah) who is speculated of having confined, raped and tortured an 18-year-old girl. The suspect had recorded the victim after brutally torturing her. He tore off her fingernails and burned parts of her body with cigarettes and hot water, according to Tunisie Numérique’s correspondent in the region.

A security source stated the attacker was the fiance of the victim’s 21-year-old sister. The latter visited him from time to time (at his home in Sousse) where he had beforehand worked to consume drugs with him. Lately, he threatened to post her naked photos (which he had taken when they were together) on social media when she chose to separate from him.

As a result, the younger sister intervened to help them solve their relationship problems. It was later discovered that the suspect invited the younger sister to his home and misled her that her sister was implicated in a drug and prostitution case and that he was ready to help her to resolve this matter. Nevertheless, he took this chance to rape her.

It should be remarked that the police seized large quantities of drugs in their possession as well as a cell phone (containing photos and videos of the two sisters). The public prosecutor further authorized the victim to go to the Aghalbites hospital to be taken care of by a forensic doctor, according to the same source.
