Tunisia-Kairouan: ICU reaches maximum capacity

The deputy director of health in Kairouan, Radhia Debaghi issued a cry of distress concerning the health situation in the region. Debaghi said the occupancy rate of ICU beds at the COVID unit at Ibn Jazzar University Hospital has reached 100%.

As a result, ICU beds are no longer available. 30 people affected by the virus are currently hospitalized in the Covid unit, while 5 others are in the intensive care unit.

The deputy director marked, at the same time, the recording of 155 deaths in the region since June 27. Debaghi further called on citizens to uphold the barrier rules put in place by the scientific committee to curb the spread of the virus.
