Tunisia-Kairouan: Imam accused of monopoly as he sells Couscous for 1500 millimes

Citizens of Douar Dhouaher in South Kairouan expressed anger and discontent after an imam exploited the current situation of lockdown to increase prices of products.

The latter is the sole owner of a grocery store in the region. According to the inhabitants, he increased the tariffs by selling, for example, the kilo of couscous to 1,500 millimes instead of 900 while sugar is sold at 1,250 millimes. The Iman didn’t respect the margins for the sale of other consumer products.

The residents said they called the toll-free number several times to report the abuse.
