Tunisia-Kairouan-: Textile factory workers beaten up by their Italian employer

UGTT official spokesperson Sami Tahri declared today Thursday, May 27, 2021, in a post published on his page that workers and members of the main union of the textile factory in El Baten of ( governorate of Kairouan ) were beaten with sticks by their Italian employer.

Mr Sami reported that one of the victims is pregnant and that the general secretary and her assistant were likewise beaten by the manager of the Italian factory.

It should be remarked that the Italian Embassy in Tunisia has been reached and notified of the incident committed by the Italian official while commanding the required legal procedures to sanction the perpetrator.

In his post, Tahri said the affair confirmed: “the return to slavery, under the guise of encouraging investment.”

“Where is the prosecution? He wondered and pledged to internationalize the case.
