Tunisia-Kaïs Saïd meets Tunisian community in China

President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, started his state visit to the People’s Republic of China with a meeting with several members of the Tunisian community, this Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the headquarters of the Tunisian embassy in Beijing.

This meeting was a chance for the President of the Republic to voice Tunisia’s pride in Tunisian skills working abroad. He applauded their important contribution to the development of host countries as well as their central role in achieving Tunisia’s economic development.

President Saïed urged members of the Tunisian diaspora in China and around the globe to continue to excel in their various fields. He encouraged them to be proud of their belonging to Tunisia and to persevere in their efforts to promote their country abroad and carry its flag high wherever they are.

During this meeting, the President listened to the concerns and aspirations of members of the diaspora in different areas. He took note of the difficulties they encounter and underlined that the State, through all its relevant institutions, has to provide all the necessary support and assistance to Tunisians residing abroad. He also insisted that there is no place within the Tunisian state for those who fail in their duties towards citizens or who intentionally seek to hinder the resolution of their problems.
