Tunisia – Kaïs Saïed inaugurates new international diplomatic academy

President of the republic Kais Saied oversaw, today, Monday, January 15, 2024, the inauguration ceremony of the headquarters of the International Diplomatic Academy in Tunis, in the attendance of the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians abroad, Nabil Ammar.

The International Diplomatic Academy of Tunisia, financed by the Chinese government, was created under Government Order No. 630 of 2019, which determined its content and its administrative and financial organization.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nabil Ammar, stated in a speech he gave on this occasion, in front of the President of the Republic and the Chinese Ambassador after walking through the corridors of the building, that this academy is a national building which constitutes the culmination of a long process of training Tunisian diplomats, provided by the former Diplomatic Institute since 1997, valuing the presence of the Head of State and his supervision of the ceremony, inaugurating international diplomacy, giving him the signal of the beginning of work and initiating the formation of the 24th session of foreign affairs clerks.

He also voiced his gratitude to the People’s Republic of China for its important and valuable contribution to the construction of this modern headquarters.
