The President of the Republic Kais Saied today welcomed acting Minister of Health Ali Mrabet, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Othman Jerandi and the acting Minister of the Interior Ridha Gharsellaoui at the Carthage Palace. In this context, he directed the reopening of the Tunisian-Libyan border crossing from tomorrow at 7 am on the basis of the decisions taken during the ministerial health and security committees.
He further called for respecting the health protocol put in place, emphasising that other measures could be announced following the evaluation of the health situation. He, therefore, indicated that the non-respect of the sanitary protocol could prompt the revision of the reopening of the border crossings.
In order to strengthen Tunisian-Libyan bonds, Kais Saied ordered the establishment of health teams responsible for vaccination at border crossings as well as the organization of mass vaccination days in the headquarters of diplomatic delegations and the Consulate of Tunisia in Libya, in coordination with the Libyan authorities.
According to the press release published on the official page of the Presidency of the Republic, the meeting concentrated on the state of preparations for the organization of the Francophonie Summit.
