Tunisia-Kais Saied receives Director-General of Alecso

The President of the Republic, Kais Saied, received this Friday, September 25 at the palace of Carthage, Dr Mohamed Ould Amar, director-general of the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Sciences (Alecso).

On this occasion, the Head of State emphasized the important role assumed by Alecso for the promotion of education, culture and the sciences as strategic sectors allowing to ensure the development and the development of the Arab peoples by protecting them from the dangers of obscurantist thought.

In this sense, he called for giving these sectors absolute priorities, in particular through the introduction of the necessary reforms, including the development of teaching methods, cultural programs and the encouragement of scientific research.

In this context, the Head of State underlined the need to ensure that joint Arab action is developed in these vital sectors. Saied emphasized Tunisia’s total disposition to support Alecso and its work strategy for the period to come 2023-2028 as well as the encouragement of the various cultural and scientific activities and events programmed by the Organization, in particular with regard to Arabic calligraphy and the rehabilitation of the Arabic language.

For his part, the Director General of Alecso expressed his consideration to the Head of State and to the various Tunisian structures for the support they give to the Organization in order to ensure its mission, particularly in matters strengthening cooperation between Arab countries in education, culture and science.

He presented to the President of the Republic the main lines of the vision of the Arab Organization and its work program for the coming period. In this regard, he expressed his wish to see cooperation with Tunisia develop further in the areas of intervention of Alecso.
