President of the Republic Kais Saïed today welcomed Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the Carthage Palace.
During this meeting, Kais Saïed underscored the historical relations between Tunisia and Russia, highlighting the country’s commitment to further strengthening these relations, especially in the sectors of agriculture, energy, tourism, culture and student exchange.
The Head of State likewise recalled Tunisia’s firm and unconditional position alongside the Palestinian people to establish an independent State while calling on the international community to play its role in putting an end to attacks against the Palestinians.
For his part, Sergei Lavrov conveyed the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the President of the Republic and welcomed the reforms underway in Tunisia.
He also voiced the total desire of his country to further strengthen its close relations with Tunisia in anticipation of the holding of the next joint commission towards the beginning of next year.
