Tunisia-Kais Saied to Ennahdha: The State is the sole one to have monopoly on legitimate violence

Remarking on statements by some members of the Ennahdha calling on party members to assist law enforcement to protect public and private properties, President of the Republic Kais Saied stated today that the state is the sole one to hold a monopoly on legitimate violence.

In this sense, he added that the idea of forming “a parallel security system” had been recommended by “certain parties” in the aftermath of the Revolution within the framework of the National Constituent Assembly. To this end, he quipped by saying that some will never change.
