Tunisia-Kaïs Saïed: Tunisia is a free, independent and sovereign state

President of the Republic Kaïs Saïed welcomed, this Friday, July 29, 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Othman Jerandi at Carthage Palace. On this occasion, the President of the Republic confirmed that Tunisia was a free, independent and sovereign state, stressing that our sovereignty and our independence are placed above all considerations.

In this context, he recollected the principles of international law, in particular,  the right of people to decide their destiny and the principle of non-interference.

The Head of State likewise insisted on the independence of national decision-making and his rejection of any form of interference in national affairs, considering that the Tunisian State is just as sovereign as other States and that Internal sovereignty belongs to the Tunisian people, who had offered thousands of martyrs for independence and dignity.
