Five African nationals were detained on Monday by border guards, in collaboration with National Guard units in Thala (Kasserine governorate), as they enrolled into Tunisia through the Tunisian-Algerian border, the tap reported. These people include Somali, Senegalese and Ivorian nationals, a security source told the news outlet.
They were caught near the border localities in the Foussana and Haidra delegations, the same source stated, adding that it had been the residents of these regions who notified the security units of the presence of these African nationals.
These persons have been placed in mandatory quarantine in the campsite on Mount Chaambi, the same source specified.
