The official spokesman of the Court of First Instance of Kasserine and the deputy public prosecutor, Riadh Nouioui affirmed that the investigating judge issued 3 arrest warrants against the former governor of the region, the director of a copper factory and a worker of the National Environmental Protection Agency.
According to the same source, these 3 individuals are suspected of corruption in a case linked to the change of nature of “agricultural” land to “industrial” located in Majel Bel Abbes (governorate of Kasserine).
A copper waste recycling plant was constructed on this land. The suspects are likewise charged with abuse by a public official of his power conferred by a statute to harm the administration and of corruption.
Similarly, Mr. Nouioui specified that certain other parties who escaped will be heard, once arrested.
