Tunisia-Kasserine: Resumption of night clashes

Tension continues to rise after clashes resumed this evening, January 18, 2021, in Cité Ezzouhour in the governorate of Kasserine between several rioters and security units.

A security source told the TAP Agency that a group of young men set fire into rubber tires at the main entrance of the neighbourhood and hurled stones at security guards, forcing them to discharge gas tear gas to disperse them and, as a result, episodes of tension were triggered between both parties

It should be remarked that the public prosecutor’s office at the Kasserine court of first instance last night commanded to place in custody15 people, including minors of 16 years old who on Saturday and Sunday, obstructed the roads and launched projectiles on the security forces in CityEzzouhour and City Ennour in  Kasserine.
