The General Secretary of the Federation of Health Unions, Zied Nasseri, reported that paramedical agents at Kebili University Hospital initiated a strike on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, to protest against the worsening situation at the institution.
Nasseri informed Tap that this strike, which involves several trade unionists, medical and administrative executives, as well as local residents and civil society activists, is a significant step in expressing the heightened tension among paramedical agents due to the unfavorable working conditions at the University Hospital.
He also highlighted the decline in services resulting from the departure of a number of specialist doctors from the health institution and the shortage of essential equipment and medicines.
