The hearing of journalist, Khelifa Guesmi before the Court of Appeal, was to be held this Monday, May 20, 2024, but it was delayed to a later date.
Condemned to five years in prison by the Tunis Court of Appeal in a judgment which increased the one-year sentence handed down at first instance, Khelifa Guesmi should have stayed free until his cassation trial, although he was arrested and detained in September.
Khelifa Guesmi was arrested on September 3, 2023, and sentenced in the case of the dismantling of a terrorist cell in Kairouan, initially to one year in prison for refusing to reveal his sources, against the backdrop of the publication of information on the dismantling of a terrorist cell in Kairouan.
