Tunisia-Khemaies Jhinaoui: The House Speaker doesn’t have the right to call Fayez al-Sarraj

Former foreign minister Khemaies Jhinaoui stressed that the House speaker doesn’t have the right to contact any executive body of another country and congratulate him on Military achievement.

In a statement to Mosaïque FM, he affirmed that parliamentary and popular diplomacy is a Tunisian innovation ”

“It is believed that parliamentarians should be one voice to defend the state when visiting a foreign country”,he added

The former foreign minister added: “The President of the Parliament had performed a role in the meeting of the Libyan parties and in supporting what the President was doing… but he has no right to reach a party without the other… just as its function is to communicate with other parliaments and not political parties ”.

He continued: “If I were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, I would have told the President of the Republic to stop this and put an end to it”.
