Representatives of the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT), the General Federation of Information, and the Tunisian Federation of Journal Directors (FTDJ) met yesterday to examine the situation of the media institutions that face today significant difficulties.
The various stakeholders returned to the latest developments while condemning the deafening silence of the authorities in the face of this critical situation.
This situation is likely to put reporters and the rest of the workers in forced unemployment and stop the work of the institutions concerned.
They also pointed out the various breaches of press freedom and expression refusing the delay and procrastination made by the authorities to deal with the demands of the parties concerned.
Faced with the severity of the situation, it was decided to launch a coordination unit with the participation of all professional structures in order to safeguard the sector and its various components on a national and international scale.
