Tunisia-Leila Ben Ali responds to Mounir Ben Salha

Reacting to the recording broadcast by lawyer Mounir Ben Salha, Tunisia’s former first lady, Leila Ben Ali declared, through an email forwarded to journalist Nachaât Azzouz, that Ben Salha is attempting to abuse his privileged connection with the Ben Ali clan, to react to rumours about the family of the late president and provoke prejudice.

Keeping the right to prosecute the lawyer, Leila ben Ali ensured that the recording of Mounir Ben Salha was simply poorly staged, further, She revealed that Ben Salha was merely one of 50 lawyers whose the late head of the state requested their services and consequently, could not claim to know the whole truth.

During his lifetime, Ben Ali never desired to speak in the media, his widow replied. Mounir Ben Salha does not hold any valid document linking to the memoirs of Zine Abidine Ben Ali, she added, assuring that she is the only one to have this kind of information which she will publish in due course.
