President Kais Saied received Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan Bin Abdullah Al Saud at Carthage presidential palace.
Following the meeting, the Saudi FM stressed the convergence of the positions of Tunisia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with regard to the challenges facing the region.
Both sides agreed that the solution to the Libyan question can only be peaceful, Libyan-Libyan and without any foreign interference.
The Saudi FM further conveyed to the Head of State the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdelaziz, while renewing the Saudi sovereign’s invitation to the President of the Republic to pay a visit to the kingdom as soon as possible.
The meeting made it possible to highlight the strong ties between Tunisia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the willingness of the two countries’ leaders to strengthen them and boost the partnership in various fields, a statement issued by the presidency of the Republic reads.
The Head of State reiterated Tunisia’s willingness to bridge the gap between the Libyan factions, expressing Tunisia’s readiness to participate in efforts to reach a political solution that will be accepted by all Libyans and put an end to the crisis which has had negative repercussions on the neighbouring countries, especially Tunisia.
