Local Affairs Minister Lotfi Zitou met U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia Donald Blome.the meeting addressed areas of collaboration between the Department of Local Affairs and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in the joint efforts of municipalities to deal with the spread of COVID-19.
Blome offered at the meeting a summary of the assistance given by the U.S. agency to 151 municipalities under the programme funded by international partners, under the auspices of the Ministry of Local Affairs.
On his part,Zitoun praised this initiative, which “has allowed municipalities to enhance their abilities and provide means of protection for the benefit of agents”. He also called for “continuing to increase partnership between the two parties in various areas associated with municipal work and the development of the capacities of municipal officials and executives”.
