Tunisia-LTDH calls on Kais Saied not to approve appointment of new U.S ambassador

Remarking on the declarations of the U.S Secretary of State, the Tunisian League for Human Rights (LTDH) denounced the interference of any foreign party in the internal affairs of Tunisia.

The LTDH recalls that such speeches represent a breach of diplomatic mores and the Vienna agreements of 1961, which organized international relations.

“We remind each party that interferes in our national affairs that Tunisia is an independent country and that Tunisians will stand united against all those who endanger it”.

“We call on US diplomats and Foreign Secretary Blinken to alter the despotic tone of their speeches and renounce the policy of bargaining in order to interfere in the internal affairs of the country”.

Finally, the LTDH called on the President of the Republic not to accept the credentials of the U.S diplomat and requested the various components of civil society to take a stand against foreign interference.
