Tunisia-Maarouf under house arrest: Ennahdha resorts to justice

Ennahdha movement announced that it had lodged a complaint on behalf of Anouar Maarouf against the acting Interior Minister “for detaining a person, without legitimate cause”.

The party likewise instructed its legal office to challenge this decision before the Administrative Court, as an arbitrary decision that did not respect legal procedures.

Expressing solidarity with Maarouf, the party called on the President of the Republic to lift the procedures that violate the provisions of the Constitution, the law and international covenants.

It also called upon all democratic and human rights forces to unite efforts in order to put an end to the systematic campaign that is targeting a widening circle of Tunisian sectors.
