Tunisia- Mabrouk Korchid calls for a referendum to change political regime set by Ennahdha

Reflecting on the political deadlock that the nation is currently experiencing, MP Mabrouk Korchid, stated that the two heads of the executive power will never be capable to agree within the framework of this political regime set up by Ennahdha .
The choice of this regime aims specifically to divide power so that the Islamist movement can have command of the state, he stressed. The MP announced that significant national organizations, including UGTT, UTICA and LTDH, should come together to force a national dialogue directed at amending this political regime.
Following this, a referendum and early elections could be organized. It does not make sense that the President of the Republic who is elected by the people has such restricted prerogatives, he said, stating that he was in favour of the establishment of a presidential regime.
