MP Mabrouk Korchid spoke about the deal on the creation of the Qatari Development Fund which has ignited dispute in recent days. Declaring that the parliament is no longer qualified to review bills and agreements, Korchid stressed that he was against the approval of the bill establishing the Fund in question.
He added that 5 members of the Bureau of Parliament similarly opposed the creation of the Fund. According to him, the agreement approved by the Minister of Development and International Cooperation was not presented in a ministerial council.
Being responsible for the country’s foreign policy, the MP, accordingly, called on the President of the Republic Kais Saied as well as prime minister Hichem Mechichi to withdraw the agreement relating to the creation of the Qatari Development Fund.
