The executive office of the Association of Tunisian Magistrates (AMT) declared a 5-day general strike, from Monday 16 to Friday 20 November 2020.
All the magistrates were similarly asked to participate in tomorrow’s protest, Monday, November 16, 2020, in front of the Nabeul court of first instance, to remember Judge Sonia Laaridhi.
The AMT related it will hold a press conference on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, to educate public opinion on the “catastrophic conditions” and the state of health of the judges “which will lead to the paralysis of justice”.
It also called on the Superior Council of the Judiciary to shoulder its responsibility in settling the crisis situation of the judicial establishment in connection to the terrible working conditions and the spread of the pandemic in all the courts.
“In the event that urgent demands are not met, including the treatment of magistrates at the military hospital, the association will opt for escalation,” the statement added.
